DURHAM COUNTY FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION DEVELOPMENT CLUB OF THE YEAR 2006
Leven AFC were founded in the mid 80's previously called Eaglescliffe United with one Junior boy's team.
The home pitches were near to Teesside Airport (Durham Tees Valley).
The Club changed it's name to Leven AFC in 1988 and moved to it's present home "The Recreation Ground" on Durham Lane.
The Club was one of the first Three Clubs in the country to achieve the coveted Charter Standard award from the Football Association in 2001 for it's high standard of organisation, coach training and child protection.
Today there are 16 teams playing in the Teesside Junior Football Alliance leagues.
We have a Saturday morning Soccer School at Conyers School outside on the Astro Turf which runs all year round breaking only for Xmas. The School caters for 5-10 years of age and is open from 10.00 12.00hrs.
All are welcome.
Micro-Tots is a new ventur in conjunction with Conyers School, catering for children from 2-4 years of age.
Fun games are organised with the childrens parents also
being involved.
There is a dedicated Girls section now having weekly coaching sessions.
There are also coaches trained and qualified to administer disability coaching sessions when required and to cater for young persons with disabilities.
Leven have numerous Club School links with local Schools to help with training and expertise as required.
Coaches are subject to the Club's child protection procedures and are FA qualified.
How qualified/capable is your football team's registered first aider?
Qualified and fully capable
Has done some basic training but is hardly qualified. It's just to meet regulations really.
